The Dutch season starts this weekend.
This week at JRN
Notes from the Editor
Hi {{first_name|JRN Community}},
It feels good to be back in the swing of things, doesn’t it?
As students return to classrooms and lecture theatres, club athletes bid a fond farewell to long, warm summer evenings at the boathouse, and the national federations of the world start eyeing up the 2027 calendar, it’s starting to feel like the new season has arrived.
That’s not to say it’s all familiar territory, though.
In this week’s edition, we examine the remarkable consistency with which records are falling, the risk of crocodile-related disruptions to the 2032 Olympic Games, and - of course - take a global perspective on the racing coming up this weekend.
It only gets busier from here.
See you next week,

The Catch-up

“These performances, then, represent a seismic shift in the potential of schoolgirl eights, clearing that mark by almost ten seconds. The fact that multiple crews have set times which would have put them on the podium at the U19 World Rowing Championships, ahead of GB in third, is staggering.”
🍛 Eating To Stay Injury-Free

“While your coach handles the programming side of things, the food side of it is all up to you, which can be daunting to start with. We know that we need to be fuelled for training and recovery, but have you ever considered why that’s the case? Let’s have a look at how the food you eat actually helps to keep you ticking along.”
